Miranda Brown comes from a family steeped in music. All five
Brown siblings sang in choirs, studied voice and learned various
instruments from a young age. Three went on to become professional
musicians. Miranda played her first professional gig while still
in elementary school, accompanying a music theatre production
at the Vancouver Art Gallery. In her early 20’s she began
teaching and working steadily as a freelance harpist. Over the
years she freelanced with most of Canada’s major western
orchestras including the Vancouver Symphony and the CBC Chamber
Orchestras.

Miranda’s musical influences and tastes have
always been wide-ranging. She grew up listening to a lot of progressive
Pop/Rock, Funk and Jazz. Although she connected strongly with
the Choral music and the English and European art songs she studied,
Miranda was moving toward a freer, more improvisational singing
style. This eventually led her to produce her first album “Songs
From Inside Out.”
Currently, Miranda sings, plays harp, writes songs, arranges
and records with Jaiya. As an Indie musician she’s immersed
in the mad world of marketing and promoting music. She is also
working on material for her second solo album.
